INTERNATIONAL COASTAL CLEANUP 2023

Nowadays, our bodies of water like lakes, rivers, seas, and oceans are being polluted by human trash. Plastic bottles, wrappers, cigarette butts, cans, and some other wastes are being seen and are affecting marine life and its natural environment. And as we know it, the seas and oceans cover more than 70% of our planet’s surface, protecting and preserving it is an important role of the people. By doing so, we are not just preserving its beauty, we are also helping to protect marine animals, and their habitats, contributing to the local community by removing toxic waste from their sources of water.

That is why, as part of MPT South’s Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability efforts, and in celebration of International Coastal Cleanup Day, MPT South joined the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-National Capital Region (DENR-NCR) last September 16, 2023 (Saturday) on helping clean our coasts at Las Pinas-Paranaque Wetland Park (LPPWP) and show its care and support in sustaining the environment.

Various volunteers from MPT South also came and joined this activity and showed their “malasakit” towards our coasts and environment.
