The passing of June 12 adds yet another year to our country’s 120 plus years of independence from the Spanish rule. Apart from signifying our freedom from the Spanish colonization, this day also commemorates one of the first instances that we proclaimed to the world our identity as one body, one nation and one united Filipino country.
