Kwentong Barangay: Responsable AKO

by Matthew E. Ribon, MARCH 2023

One criterion on defining success of a business or a corporation is through measuring its efforts in engaging different kinds of stakeholders. Successful businesses make sure that they aim not only to become a successful organization, but also, strive to make an impact towards the community and the environment. The community is one of the most important stakeholders an organization should build and keep a good relationship with. The company should not only be concerned with making greater profit but should also care about the welfare of the society, which would also lead towards improving its brand recognition among its consumers.

Here at MPT South, we practice being a socially responsible corporation towards our neighboring communities through a variety of CSR projects conducted in different locations and communities to ensure that we value the relationship we have with them.

March 10, 2023 – A.K.O. Donation Drive, or also known as “Alagang Kapwa Oras-oras”, a community pantry type of donation drive, was conducted at Ma-Ma’s Hope Haven of Norway, located in General Trias, Cavite. The A.K.O Donation Drive is an all-year round project that aims to provide our neighboring communities’ immediate needs in times of unforeseen events.

The chosen beneficiary for this month was Ma-Ma’s Hope Haven of Norway, a non-profit Christian organization that offers orphans and abandoned eldery shelter which is located in Barangay Navarro, General Trias – a part of our CALAX community.

With the help of TDS AVP Engr. Lito Haleco and Senior Manager Engr.Rey Alano, with the whole of  the TDS and PDEC team, basic necessities such as food, toiletries were donated to the clients and tenants of the shelter. Along with this, an excerpt of the Silver Anvil Award Winning Bayani Ka Activity Book was read to the audience as part of the bonding activity with the residents of the shelter.

MPT South CSM, and our partner departments  will continue these activities throughout the year to further enhance relationships with our communities, and play a part in the development of the cities and municipalities we operate in as part of our mandate to provide growth to our countrymen..
