When asked, the majority of employees will prefer comfortable, yet stylish outfits during long hours of working from home. That is what drives Ericka Dungo and Dhale Santos from MPT South to open their start-up online clothing business called “Newtella Clothing”.
The word “Newtella”, according to Ericka, originally came from a chocolate spread brand named Nutella. She thought of explaining it as “new-tela” meaning “new clothes, new linen”.
The couple launched it on Facebook and Instagram last April 17, 2021, when most of us were working remotely from home due to the implementation of a stricter lockdown on NCR+ bubble. They thought of it as an advantage in opening a clothing line wherein they offer OOTDs that are perfect for couch-bound and bed-bound working employees.
These are some of the super comfy and stylish outfits that are available in Newtella Clothing at a very affordable price:

For now, they only sell terno wears, tops, and dresses for women and kids. “We’re still on the planning stage and sourcing out of suppliers. We still need to figure out a way to expand our market and maximize our brand’s potential by understanding our customer’s needs. We will soon launch products for men,” said Ericka.
The business did incredibly well in its first month of launching. Newtella Clothing received hundreds of orders in just one month!
“Starting a new business is very challenging, but you will be able to start small if you have a dream. Support from families and friends is necessary to help you overcome these challenges. Always remember that there is no harm in trying,” added Ericka.
Ericka and Dhale also seek support from our fellow Ka-MPTSouth. “Hoping to see each one of you to try our work from home OOTDs and loungewear perfect for you and your loved ones”.
