Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South), a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) will be activating its “Safe Trip Mo, Sagot Ko (SMSK) program” to reinforce 24/7 motorist assistance for motorists traversing its toll road networks: Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), Cavitex C-5 Link Flyover, and the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) during the Holy Week.

From March 28 to April 5, 2021, under SMSK program, CAVITEX Customer Service Centers (Northbound and Southbound), C-5 Link Flyover Customer Service Station (Westbound), and CALAX Greenfield (Mamplasan) Customer Service Station will be open 24/7 for motorists concerns, as well as Easytrip RFID installation and reloading.  Emergency medical services (EMS) will also be on-site 24/7 during the said period. Moreover, on March 31 6:00AM until April 5, 6:00AM,  free towing service for Class 1 vehicles will be provided (to the nearest exit only).

“With the Holy Week coming up, we are anticipating a 50% increase in terms of volume of vehicles that will pass through our toll roads, from the peak hours of Holy Wednesday, March 31, until Monday, April 5, 2021. In preparation for the expected surge of motorists, we will increase the deployment of traffic manpower on these dates to maintain ease of passage for motorists traversing our expressways. Also, we continue to remind our motorists to practice minimum health protocols such as wearing a mask inside their vehicles to avoid COVID-19 transmission.,” said Roberto V. Bontia, General Manager and President of MPT South.

According to Bontia, the tollway company will deploy a total of 78 traffic operations manpower to ensure 24/7 operations in its toll roads. RFID assist and ambulant tellers on cash lanes will also be increased to manage the queue of vehicles in toll plazas.

On March 22, 2021, the government places NCR+ (Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Bulacan, and Rizal) under general community quarantine (GCQ) until April 4, 2021, with a stricter protocol. However, travels are not restricted when moving inside the GCQ bubble.
