Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South), a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), the infrastructure arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC), is now all set for the expected influx of motorists amidst the closure of cemeteries for ‘Undas 2021’.

With the government easing NCR and nearby provinces to a more relaxed COVID Alert Level 3, the tollway company is anticipating an increase of 11% to 15% of traffic volume in the coming long weekend, from October 29 until November 2, 2021, in Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), CAVITEX C5 Link, and Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX).

Anticipating the influx of motorists plying the expressways during the Undas season, MPT South will activate Safe Trip Mo, Sagot Ko (SMSK) motorist assistance program. This will intensify expressway services providing safer and shorter travel time for the convenience of the motorists during the holiday rush.

MPT South will deploy close to 100 traffic operations manpower, and additional toll operations personnel to ensure 24/7 unimpeded operations in its expressways. The count includes patrol crews, traffic marshals, emergency medical services personnel, ambulant tellers, and toll assists in RFID lanes.

The tollway company will also offer free towing services to the nearest exit for stalled CLASS 1 vehicles along its expressways from 6:00 AM of October 29 to 6:00 AM of November 2, 2021.

Furthermore, MPT South assures 24/7 operation of Customer Service Centers. Aside from the on-site expressway facilities, the toll road company will also be reachable 24/7 thru its emergency hotline 1-35000 and thru online social media channels via Facebook pages (CAVITEX, CALAX) and Twitter accounts (@CaviteXpressway, @OfficialCALAX) for live traffic updates and online assistance.

MPT South encourages its motorists to use RFID as a means of toll payment to prevent possible transmission of COVID-19 and avoid long queues in cash lanes. It also reminds motorists to strictly follow IATF guidelines and practice minimum health protocols when traveling.

Aside from the CAVITEX, CAVITEX C5 Link, and CALAX, the MPTC’s tollways portfolio includes the concessions for the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), the Subic-Clark Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), the NLEX Connector Road, and the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) in Cebu.
