More Foodie Trips in the South!

by Ma. Ericka Joyce C. Dungo and Patricia B. Marcelino, AUGUST 2021

After two weeks of being under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), Metro Manila and nearby provinces are now under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ). Unfortunately, for restaurants, the restrictions are still the same as the ECQ restrictions. Indoor and outdoor dining is still not allowed.

We know a lot of people miss eating outside or strolling down the streets to look for a place to chill and eat. You can still plan on what you want to do once the restrictions have been relaxed. Let us help you in planning your weekend by listing down some places where you can eat, drink, and chill that offer al fresco dining options!

If you’re looking for a quick chill spot amidst the pandemic, then let’s go to the South! Foodies living south of Manila will be thrilled to know that they no longer need to travel far to enjoy a safe dining experience.

1. Somo Market – a place for your market destination that showcases over a hundred merchants. Located at Daang Hari near Vistamall Somo. This is the first outdoor dining place in the South! A one-stop shop ala “bazaar” and “Mercato” which has lots of tent stalls sell different varieties of food, clothes, thrift finds and a lot more. You can also bring your kids here and play kite before the sunset! Picnic perfect for families and friends while observing the minimum health protocols.

2. Global Market – Following the success of Somo Market, Global Market is located in Las Pinas City, Gatchalian rd. It also offers an array of products from fresh fruits, food, seafood, and various clothing shops and toys.

3. 153 Central Food Park – if you are looking for a great place to dine in with your family and friends within Imus, various restaurants to choose from? Located in the Heart of Imus, Cavite. You can check their Facebook page to know more:

When you plan to go to these markets, always practice social distancing and observe minimum health protocols for everyone’s safety. Enjoy! 😊
