Message from MPT South TDE Head Art H. Monge

To my beloved Colleagues,

It’s been more than a year of challenging works and more than a year adapting to the new normal due to the pandemic. Despite this adversity, let us not forget to celebrate our milestones and recognize the hard work each one of us has shown. As we enter the month of June, let me greet all of you with a Happy 4th anniversary! It’s a great pride to see our company growing, achieving new benchmarks in the industry altogether. I would like to extend my gratitude to all of you who made it possible and for continuously embracing our core values and upholding the culture of excellence in our workplaces.

I have read this inspirational poem from Douglas Malloch and I want to share it with you:

If you can't be a pine on the top of the hill
Be a scrub in the valley--but be
The best little scrub by the side of the rill;
Be a bush if you can't be a tree.
If you can't be a bush be a bit of the grass,
And some highway happier make;
If you can't be a muskie then just be a bass--
But the liveliest bass in the lake!
We can't all be captains, we've got to be crew,
There's something for all of us here.
There's big work to do and there's lesser to do,
And the task we must do is near.
If you can't be a highway then just be a trail,
If you can't be the sun be a star;
It isn't by size that you win or you fail--
Be the best of whatever you are!

Colleagues, I just wanted to say that whatever may be your position in the company always be the best version of that position. If you work as an Associate Engineer, be the BEST Associate Engineer. If you are a Street Sweeper in your town, be the BEST Street Sweeper in the town. Every one of us no matter how small you think your work or task is, contributes greatly to our goals. And that is the pursuit of excellence. Always remember that we must be the best version of ourselves.

We have a lot of things to do and we still have a lot of milestones to reach. Let us continue to be dependable and ready to face challenges for the people we serve. In return, they too can fulfill their responsibilities to our fellowmen and country. May we remain true to our core values of Customer Focus, Integrity, Teamwork Innovation, Excellence, and Social Responsibility in every step we will take.
