The Biyaheng South team never says “no” to new adventures! We were invited by Provincial Government of Cavite and Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (Cavite Tourism) during their Promote Cavite Ecotourism hiking at Mount Pico de Loro.
Mount Pico de Loro is the highest peak in Cavite which re-opened last January after undergoing a six-year rehabilitation program. The mountain is located in the boundary of Cavite and Batangas. Biyaheng South with Cavite Tourism, DENR PENRO, All About Cavite and PDDRMO of Cavite, climbed the newly re-opened Mount Pico de Loro last March 7, 2023.
The hike started around 8AM, reached the Pico de Loro Summit around 12 noon and finished the trail at 3PM. The mountain is considered to be a beginner friendly hike since it is only a 7KM hike back and forth.
The beauty of the view of Cavite and Nasugbu, Batangas amazed us when we reached the summit. Concrete steps were built along eroded areas going to the summit.
The DENR, PAMO and Protected Area Management (PAMB) did a great job on enhancing and rehabilitating the beauty of Mount Pico de Loro. To continue protecting the said place, a maximum of 90 hikes per day is strictly observed and online booking of the slot is required prior to your hike.
