2021 Second Quarter with MPTC Chief HR Officer Lea M. Wong

by Sigrid C. Shun, JUNE 2021

A little trivia, March 4, 2020 was the last face-to-face L.E.A.D. Talks before the COVID-19 pandemic surged in the Philippines. Our MPTC Chief HR Officer Lea M. Wong (LMW) was also the invited Center of Excellence Leader for that event.

Now after more than a year and still amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, we got to know more about LMW and her thoughts on career, leadership, handling conflict, and role of HR.

LMW has more than 30 years in the industry and 18 years in the Metro Pacific Tollways group. Looking back, what helped in the ups and downs of her career journey is the belief to “Just hang in there. It will pass. It will get better. Be persistent. There is never a perfect job or company,” according to LMW. She keeps herself inspired with clear goals and seeing it gets achieved as well as loving her job and the thought that one is contributing to the growth of the organization.

Making Tough Decisions in HR

Handling Differences of Opinion with Boss

Handling Conflict between Team Members

Unfortunately, these are just snippets of what LMW shared during the Q&A. There were are lot of inspiring and uplifting words of wisdom shared. The LEAD Talks ended with a learning activity to assess the insights gathered from the event. Aside from the learnings, each participant receives a Thank You card and token of appreciation.
